‘I always preferred to hang with the outcasts, ’cause they were cooler; they had better taste in music, for one thing, I guess because they had more time to develop one with the lack of social interaction they had.’
I can’t count how many times I watched “The Breakfast Club”. Probably around 50. I could recite the script from memory. Same with many other John Hughes films like: “Pretty In Pink”, “Sixteen Candles”, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” or “Some Kind Of Wonderful”.
I related to the Judd Nelson character in The Breakfast Club. I wanted to be cool like Ferris Bueller, and who didn’t want to bang Molly Ringwald?
Thank you John Hughes for making me laugh, and for making adolescent life in the 80’s a little more bearable. I am sorry you had to leave us at such a young age. You will be missed.
