It's a great idea to track the links separately, it also gives you some idea how much of your mail was read. the people who clicked the first link probably liked it right away what you had to offer and link2, link3 clickers needed some more convincing.

    Hi

I noticed that you had 3 links with different url's so I have been clicking on all 3 to work out what you were up to..........

  • I would have done the same. It was purely for testing and I suppose clicking all 3 won't mess my sample data much. The other thing was I got an equal number of sales from link 1 and 3.

  • Ok Brad, just to screw with you I will now click the second link in every email you send me.

    :)

  • Yeah, I've seen a few top marketers speak about this before. I could also be to do with the positioning of the links.

Maybe the reason the link in the middle isn't getting as many clicks as the other two could be because the reader want's to see what you have to say. If they've read that far chances are they'll read to the end, maybe that's why the 3rd link gets more clicks than the 2nd.

    Very cool though!

  • This is a oldie trick but it stills works..you always want links through your emails.

  • I agree man... I've been testing that as well, using 1 link, I ain't getting as much click as 2 links... But I've never tested with 3 links... Thanks for the heads up!
