Justin Popovic and I talk about the compelling need to work. For some reason even when we are supposed to be relaxed and enjoying things, we catch ourselves feeling the need to be working. Both of us struggle with this because as entrepreneurs we had never planned to work so hard. It’s amazing when your business becomes your baby how much time you are willing to dedicate.

The concept of tipping to get an advantage is not new. It can get funny however and you bring it up in a group of people because everyone seems to have an opinion on the subject.

When I asked my friend Ted Payne for an idea to blog about today, he immediately replied with this topic.

Ted shared with me the fact that when he first started in business he tried to play the part of an old man. Not just the way he dressed but in the way he interacted with other business people.

Once Ted realized that he didn’t need to play the role of anyone but himself, business got easier and more enjoyable for him.

If you find yourself dressing like someone you can’t stand to look at in the mirror, or playing the part of someone that isn’t congruent with your personality it’s time for a change.
